Visual storytelling across cultures

Emerging filmmaker documenting people, culture, and stories that often go unseen.
About me
Documentary filmmaker & visual storyteller.
I'm Mohammad Zama Haider, an emerging filmmaker and final year student at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU) in Japan. Originally from India and currently based in Japan, I'm interested in stories that explore people, culture, identity, and the quiet moments that often go unnoticed in everyday life.
My interest in documentary filmmaking grew through experiences living between cultures and engaging with local communities in Japan. Over the years, I've been involved in projects centered around intergenerational connection, cultural exchange, and storytelling through film and visual media.
Beyond filmmaking, my experiences in leadership and community-based initiatives continue to shape the way I observe people and approach storytelling.
As I continue developing my voice as a filmmaker, I hope to create visual stories that feel human, immersive, and emotionally honest. This website is a growing archive of the projects, ideas, and stories I'm exploring through film.
